General Care

  • Do not touch! Your hands are dirty and can cause infection in your new piercing.
  • Clean your piercing once a day with antibacterial soap, wash your hands before doing so.
  • Do not use alcohol, peroxide, or iodine to clean your piercing, these products are too strong and will irritate your piercing, stick with bactine or a saline solution to be safe and use cotton swabs to clean gently but thoroughly.
  • Soak your new piercings in salt water. Use a non-iodized sea salt, and mix with bottled or boiled water, let it cool to a lukewarm temperature before using. Soak for 10-15 minutes.
  • Take care when swimming, and avoid spas.

Navel Piercings

  • This piercing takes 3 to 18 months to heal, sometimes longer, so take good care of it.
  • Wash your new piercing once a day, preferably in the shower with antibacterial soap. Be sure and wash your arms and hands before doing so.
  • Ideally you should soak your new navel piercing once a day with a saltwater solution, use a shot glass or small cup for best results.

Tongue Piercings

  • This piercing heals in 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Keep it clean! Rinse your mouth frequently with a mouthwash. Try to use an alcohol and peroxide-free wash, like Biotene. If using Listerine, water down to a 50/50 solution with bottled or boiled water.
  • Keep it cold! Your tongue is going to swell, so you need to keep it cool with things like popsicles, ice cubes, ice water, slushies, etc. This will minimize the swelling, and help expedite the healing process.
  • Rinse your mouth out with a salt water solution as often as you like to aid healing.

Eyebrow Piercings

  • Clean your new eyebrow piercing 3 to 4 times a day.
  • This piercing takes 2 to 4 months to heal fully. Wait until it is healed before changing the jewelry, if you don't it may take longer to heal or become infected.
  • You can expect some bruising around the eyebrow for the first few days.
  • Keep your hair clean and away from your piercing if possible.

Nipple Piercings

  • Wash your new nipple piercing(s) once a day, preferably in the shower with antibacterial soap. Continue cleaning them throughout the day with a cleaning solution and cotton swabs to keep off any kind of secretion or crusties.
  • Nipple piercings take 4 months to a year to heal, so give them a little time to heal before you or someone else starts playing with them, this will help avoid the risk of infection and/or irritation.
  • Use shot glasses or a small cup to soak your new piercing in salt water.
